About Us
The name of our Club is ‘St Oliver Plunkett Celtic Supporters Club’. The founder members, of Irish descent, chose this name in commemoration of Saint Oliver Plunkett ('Oliver' means an olive tree or branch - a symbol of peace) who served the Catholic Church and the Irish people with faith, zeal and humility. His is an example of justice, tolerance, peace and reconciliation, a perfect model for all.
Celtic Football Club has strong Irish connections and origins. We honour those people and their culture which made our great Club what it is today.
We treasure and celebrate the tradition out of which our Club was born. The ‘St Oliver Plunkett Celtic Supporters Club’ (henceforth to be referred to as the ‘Club’) will exist to serve the interests of its members by promoting and advancing the heritage, tradition, culture and well-being of Celtic Football Club and it supporters.
Aims and Objectives
To represent the interests of its Members.
To revere, promote and preserve the heritage, traditions and culture of Celtic Football Club (henceforth to be referred to as ‘Celtic F.C’), in accordance with the ideals of the Club's founding fathers.
To espouse non-exclusivity, embracing all colours, creeds and religious faiths and none.
To affirm our Irish and Scottish identity and actively foster our historical, religious and cultural links with Ireland. Our webpage 'Our Origins', with thanks to Dr Joseph M Bradley, records the cultural, historical and economic background which brought about the foundation of Celtic FC.
To promote and facilitate amongst members the active support of Celtic F.C.
To pursue an earnest and prominent role in the development of Celtic F.C.
To promote social, recreational and leisure interaction between members, Celtic F.C management, staff and players, and all who are disposed towards the well-being of Celtic F.C and its supporters.
To acquire or dispose of assets for uses toward the advancement of these aims and objectives.
